Password Generator

Create strong, random passwords with control over length and character types.

What This Tool Does

This tool generates strong, random passwords using your browser's cryptographically secure random number source — the same category of randomness used for security-sensitive applications, not just a simple approximation.

How to Use It

  1. Choose your desired password length using the slider (8 to 32 characters).
  2. Tick which character types to include: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols.
  3. A password generates automatically — press Generate again anytime for a new one, and Copy to copy it to your clipboard.

Example

For a banking or email account, generate a 16-character password using all four character types for a strong result — our tool will label it "Strong" once it meets that bar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to generate a password on a website?

This tool generates your password entirely inside your own browser using JavaScript — nothing is ever sent to any server, logged, or stored anywhere. Closing the tab clears it completely.

How long should my password be?

For most important accounts, 12-16 characters combining all four character types provides strong protection against automated guessing attacks. Longer is generally better, especially for accounts without two-factor authentication enabled.

Should I reuse the same strong password across sites?

No — reusing any password, however strong, means a single breached site can compromise every other account using it. A password manager that generates and stores a unique password per site is the safer long-term habit.
